From this year onwards, if any question is wrong or not clear in SSC exam, then all the candidates will be given full marks for it. Also, the language which the candidates choose while filling the form, they will be able to give the exam only in that language. Staff Selection Commission i.e. SSC gave this information through a notice on Friday, April 10.

The Commission has prepared Challenge/Objection Management System 2026 to challenge the answer keys. Under this, the Commission has issued new guidelines. This objection system will be applicable to every computer based examination of the Commission. This will make the evaluation process more transparent, fair and candidate friendly.

6 important things under the new guidelines:

  1. Under the new rules, if any question is wrong or unclear then all the candidates will get full marks for that question.
  2. If a question has more than one correct answer among its options, marks will be given for choosing the correct answer. There will be negative marking for wrong answers and no marks will be given for not answering.
  3. If the question is outside the syllabus then the question will be removed and its full marks will be given.
  4. If the question is wrong due to translation error in any language, then only the candidates of that language will get its marks.
  5. SSC has not mentioned the fees for answer key challenge in the new guidelines. However, last year the answer key challenge fee was reduced from Rs 100 to Rs 50.
  6. If your answer is correct then your answer key challenge fee will be refunded as per the rules.

Along with this, the Commission has made it clear that only valid objections will be considered. Also, the candidates have been requested not to file unnecessary objections. After every exam, the Commission releases a provisional answer key. In this, the subject matter experts (SMEs) of the Commission review the objections lodged on wrong questions. Then the final key is prepared and released. On this basis the result is prepared.

Till now, the Commission has received many complaints related to wrong questions in the Answer Key, even RTI and court cases have been filed against the Commission. After this, the Commission has prepared this guideline by clearing all the rules regarding the answer key challenge.
