MG Motor India has launched the taxi variant of its popular Windsor EV. The company has named it ‘MG Commute’. Its ex-showroom price has been kept at Rs 13.49 lakh. This is the cheapest variant of Windsor EV, which is specially designed for fleet operators. ₹ 60,000 cheaper than the base model of Windsor, the price of MG Commute is 60 thousand rupees less than the base model ‘Excite’ of Windsor. Despite this, many premium features have been retained in it. It has flush door handles, 17-inch steel wheels and LED headlights. In external appearance, it looks quite similar to the standard Windsor. Interior: Reclining seats and cruise control The car comes with rear AC vents and reclining rear seats with a 60:40 split. For driver convenience, features like tilt and telescopic steering, electronic parking brake, 7-inch LCD instrument cluster, cruise control and auto climate control are included. However, it will not get touchscreen infotainment system and steering mounted audio controls. Safety: 6 airbags will be available for safety. MG has taken full care of safety in this. Like the standard model, 6 airbags have been provided in Commute. Apart from this, it has safety features like disc brakes on all four wheels, hill descent control, electronic stability control (ESC) and tire pressure monitoring system. 332 km journey in one charge MG Commute has the same 38 kWh battery which is found in Windsor EV. This motor generates power of 136 PS and torque of 200 Nm. When fully charged, you will get a range of 332 km. For charging, it has 3.2 kW AC charger and 45 kW DC fast charging support. Special changes for fleet operators: Considering commercial use, MG Commute may be given a speed limit of 80 km/h. Apart from this, telematics solution can also be found in it. In the Indian market, it will compete directly with the vehicles of Maruti Suzuki’s Tour division.
