German automaker Volkswagen has launched the facelift model of its popular mid-size SUV Tigun in India. In the 2026 Tigun facelift, the company has made cosmetic changes as well as mechanical updates.
The biggest feature of the car is its new 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox and panoramic sunroof, which was in demand for a long time. Apart from this, the company has also introduced a special ‘buyback scheme’ for the customers.
Price and buyback offer: Range starts from ₹11 lakh
The starting ex-showroom price of the Volkswagen Taigun facelift has been set at ₹11 lakh, which goes up to ₹19.3 lakh for the top model.
- Buyback Scheme: The company has launched an ‘Assured Buyback Scheme’. Under this, customers booking by May 31, 2026 will be guaranteed to get 75% of the ex-showroom price back if they drive the car for 3 years or 30,000 km.
- competition: In terms of price, it is ₹31,000 more expensive than its sister company, the Skoda Kushaq facelift. In the market it will compete with cars like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and the new Renault Duster.

Exterior: New headlights and sequential indicators
A lot of changes have been made in the front look of Taigun facelift. It has been given new shaped headlights and updated bumpers.
- Logo and Lights: ‘Illuminated’ Volkswagen logos have been provided in the front and rear of the car. The LED light bar at the rear has been revised, which now has sequential indicators.
- Wheels and Colors: New alloy wheel designs have been given in the car. The company has also introduced two new color options—Avocado Pearl and Steel Grey.

Interior and Features: Panoramic sunroof and digital display
The layout of the cabin remains the same, but the features have been significantly upgraded:
- Display: It now gets a new 10.25-inch digital driver display and a 10.1-inch updated infotainment touchscreen.
- Comfort: For the first time, a panoramic sunroof has been provided in the car. Apart from this, features like powered and ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, wireless charging pad and 6-speaker sound system are available.
- Connectivity: It has support for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. To improve AC performance, ‘Variable Geometry Compressor’ has been used in it.
Performance and Mileage: New 8-speed automatic gearbox
There are no changes to the engine, but the transmission has been updated:
- engine: It has a 1.0-litre 115hp and 150hp 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine.
- Gearbox: The 1.0-litre engine now comes with a new 8-speed automatic gearbox instead of the old 6-speed. The 7-speed DCT option remains intact with the 1.5-litre engine.
- Mileage: Mileage has also improved. The 1.0L manual returns a mileage of 19.98kpl, 1.0L automatic 19.54kpl and 1.5L DCT model returns 18.85kpl.

Safety Features: Now disc brakes will be available in the rear also
In terms of safety, Volkswagen has fulfilled the long standing demand of the customers by providing ‘rear disc brakes’ in its higher variants. Apart from this, features like 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and tire pressure monitoring system are available as standard in the car.
