1. Union Minister Gadkari will conclude the Advanced Agriculture Festival
On April 13, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will conclude the 3-day Advanced Agriculture Festival in Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh.
- The Krishi Mahotsav, which began on April 11, showcased advanced technologies including drones, pumps and irrigation live.
- Agricultural scientists from across the country including CM Dr. Mohan Yadav and Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Director General Dr. Mangi Lal Jat also participated in the festival.
- The objective of the Krishi Mahotsav is to provide information about quality seeds and fertilizers, and the intricacies of irrigation and gardening.
- Farmers were also given information about business market and credit system in the Krishi Mahotsav.
- The Krishi Mahotsav featured live interactions with farmers on 20 topics across four seminar halls, ranging from the use of AI in agriculture to integrated farming.
- On April 11, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the Advanced Agriculture Festival in Raisen.
- Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan also participated in the agricultural festival.
App and platform also launched in Krishi Mahotsav
Soil Mobile App: Soil mobile app was launched in the Krishi Mahotsav, so that soil testing could be done.
E-Forms Platform: An e-forms platform was also launched in the Krishi Mahotsav, so that scheme and market information could reach the farmers through this platform.

More than 300 stalls were set up in the agricultural festival and more than 20 thousand farmers participated in it.

2. Singer Asha Bhosle passes away
Singer Asha Bhosle passed away on 12 April.
- Asha Bhosle was 92 years old and was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai due to lung infection.
- Asha sang more than 12,000 songs in more than 14 languages.
- She was famous for singing in genres like pop, ghazal, classical music.
- Asha was born on 8 September 1933 in Sangli, Maharashtra.
- In 1943, at the age of 10, he sang his first song for the Marathi film ‘Majha Bal’.
- Asha sang her first Hindi song ‘Sawan Aaya’ from the film ‘Chunaria’ in 1948.
- Asha gave a new height to ‘Cabaret’ and ‘Disco’ songs in Hindi cinema in the 1960-70s.
- Asha became the first Indian singer to be nominated for a Grammy Award in 1997.
- Asha received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in the year 2000.
- Asha was awarded the Padma Vibhushan by the Government of India in 2008.
- In 2011, Asha’s name was recorded in the Guinness World Records.

3. Actor John Nolan passes away
Famous British actor John Nolan passed away on April 11. He was 87 years old.
- John was known for his roles in films such as 2005’s Batman Begins and Person of Interest.
- Nolan was the uncle of acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan and appeared in several of his films.
- One of Nolan’s most famous films is 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises.
- Nolan was a graduate of the prestigious Drama Center in London and was the first student to take part.
- Nolan played Romeo at the Richmond Theater in his early career.
- Nolan also worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre.
- Nolan’s stage performances include Bequest to the Nation, Terror and The World is Full of Married Men.
- Along with this, Nolan was also seen in the TV series General Hospital and Enemy at the Door Theatre.
‘The Dark Knight Rises’ was Nolan’s most popular film.

4. Ayush Shetty wins silver in Badminton Asia Championship 2026
On April 13, India’s Ayush Shetty won silver in men’s singles at the Badminton Asia Championships 2026.
- Ayush lost to world champion Chinese player Shi Yuqi in the final played in Ningbo, People’s Republic of China.
- Ayush is the first player from India to win silver in men’s singles and the second player to win a medal in 61 years.
- Before Ayush, Dinesh Khanna had won gold in the Badminton Asia Championship in 1965.
- Dinesh Khanna is the only Indian to win gold in Badminton Asia Championship.
- Ayush started taking badminton training at the age of 8.
- Ayush had won bronze in the BWF World Junior Championship in 2023.
- Ayush wins US Open Super 300 at BWF World Tour title in 2025.
- Ayush joined the world ranking top 30 in 2025.

5. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri on visit to Paris and Berlin
On April 12, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri is on an official visit to Paris and Berlin. This journey will be of 2 days.
- Vikram Misri will co-chair the India-France Foreign Office Consultations with Martin Brienne, Secretary General of the French Foreign Ministry.
- The heads of both the countries will talk on foreign affairs, civil nuclear energy, space cyber and digital security, artificial innovation.
- The heads of both the countries will also talk about global and regional development in this meeting.
- In Berlin, Vikram will co-chair the India-Germany Foreign Office Consultations with Dr. Geza Andreas von Geyer, State Secretary of the German Foreign Office.
- The heads of both the countries will talk on business and investment, defense and security, technology, green energy and education.
- This visit of Foreign Secretary Vikram is to review the country’s bilateral relations with France and Germany.

6. NASA’s Artemis II mission returns to Earth
On April 11, NASA’s Artemis II mission returned to Earth carrying four astronauts. This mission was launched on 1 April.
- At 5:37 am (IST) the Orion capsule ‘splashdowns’ in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of San Diego, USA.
- Artemis II astronauts broke the record for the furthest distance traveled from Earth on April 6 by any human space mission.
- This is the first time since 1972 that humans have reached so close to the Moon.
- The purpose of the Artemis II mission was to investigate the ‘life support system’ of the spacecraft.
- The spacecraft has not yet landed on the Moon’s surface, but will make it easier for humans to settle on the Moon in the future.
- For the first time in 50 years, humans left Earth’s orbit and traveled several kilometers beyond the far side of the Moon.
- The Artemis II mission covered a distance of 11,02,400 kilometers during its entire journey.
- The Artemis mission rocket is the Space Launch System rocket that carried the Orion shuttle vehicle.
- In 2022, NASA launched the first Artemis mission and it was an unmanned mission.
- This was the second manned mission after the Apollo mission in 1972.
