A meeting of Sub-Divisional Level Public Grievance Redressal Committee was organized in Rampur of Shimla district under the chairmanship of State Finance Commission Himachal Pradesh Chairman and local MLA Nand Lal. In this meeting, there was a detailed discussion on public problems and development works related to sub-division Rampur. The Chairman directed to ensure disposal of complaints received from the general public within the stipulated time on priority basis. Important issues like construction of Delath-Nagadhar road, progress of Nankhari College building, installation of smart meter and proposed overbridge construction near Government Senior Secondary School and SDM office were discussed in the meeting. In Municipal Council Rampur, necessary instructions were also given regarding construction of footpath along the National Highway, removing the shortage of staff in health institutions, strengthening Ayurvedic and veterinary services and installing signage on the National Highway. Apart from this, guidelines were also issued to the concerned departments on issues related to repair of roads, sewerage system, effective implementation of drinking water schemes and electricity supply in various areas. The issues of increasing the number of books in the library of Rampur College, construction of parking in the Municipal Council area, strengthening the street light system and improving transportation facilities in rural areas were also raised prominently. Instructions were also given for prompt settlement of matters related to the forest department, compensation for damage caused by wildlife and to stop illegal activities. Expressing displeasure over the absent officers, the meeting was conducted by Sub Divisional Officer (Civil), Rampur, Harsh Amarendra Singh. Chairman Nand Lal directed that only those officers should participate in the meetings who are capable of taking decisions and have complete knowledge of the subjects related to their department. He expressed displeasure over competent officers of some departments not being present in the meeting and directed to ensure mandatory presence of such officers in the next meeting, so that the problems of the public can be resolved in a timely manner. These officers attended the meeting. At the end, the Chairman directed all the departments to ensure prompt action on the issues raised in the meeting and to submit progress reports in the next meeting. In the meeting, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Naresh Sharma, Divisional Forest Officer Gurharsh Singh, Executive Engineer Water Power Department Ranbir Negi, Executive Engineer Electricity Department Kuku Sharma, Assistant City Project Officer Priyanka Negi, SMS Horticulture Sanjay K. Officials from various departments including Chauhan were present.
